Byron Buxton was named a top prospect for the past few years, but has yet to show his true skills in the majors. In the first half of 2016 Buxton has had a dismal slash line of .212/.253/.364 and has shown very little power or speed. All that was beginning to turn around though in the last two weeks before the All-Star break. Over the last 14 days Buxton has a slash line of .296/.333/.519. Clearly he has the skills to be a super start in the league, but he had to figure out big league pitching and that time will come in the second half of the 2016 season. Not to mention the added pressure of having Max Kepler outperforming him that will push Buxton to be his best.

Yes, our choice for bust also comes from the Minnesota Twins and no we are not Twins fans. Eduardo Nunez has been a major surprise not only for baseball fans, but also we would imagine for the Twins organization. In the first half of 2016 Nunez has had 336 plate appearances, that is two less than his career high in any full season at the major league level. During this first half he has stolen 22 bases equaling his career high and has 12 home runs which more than doubles his career high of five. Coming in to this season Nunez was not even suppose to have a starting role for Minnesota, but because of injuries he inherited one. His current batting average is 43 points higher than his career average and he has a career high BABIP of .340. It has been fun to watch Nunez tear up the base paths, but this will come to an end and he will regress towards his career numbers and that means a very bad second half. If he struggles we could see him lose his spot in the every day lineup as well. This is one player to trade before the crash comes.
