Now I know that Ben Revere has proven to hit for a better average then Taylor, but he gets on base about 33% of time and Taylor has shown the ability to do the same thing in the minors. Revere steals more bases than Taylor, but it's not like Taylor is Bartolo Colon on the bases. As recently as 2014 he stole 37 bases in 428 at bats.
On top of the fact that Taylor has speed and gets on base at the same clip as Revere he also has power to go with the speed. Taylor has shown double digit home run power with double digit steals on multiple occasions. Last year in the majors he had 14 round trips and swiped 16 bases in 138 games, you project that over 600+ at bats and he is a near 20/20 player. And all that was in his age 24 season, not even in his prime.
My final point is that you already had Taylor at a low contract amount and really had no need to go spend any money on Revere. I just don't understand the logic of holding back a 25 year old, potential 20/20 player, for 27 year old Revere.
